Hot Tapping
Introduction
A line stop, or plug off, is used to stop the flow of product once access is gained through a hot tap. The procedure enables pipelines and plant piping systems to be isolated for repairs or additions without causing an interruption in service or loss of product. Line stops can be performed on a broad range of pipe sizes for low, medium and high pressure systems.
